Ripples in the CC sheet, of varying wavelengths, with elements very
small in places. Only visible as stark as this for about 10 minutes; obviously
governed by the angle of the setting sun - 10 mins after this was taken,
although the cloud could be seen, it was a very dull affair. |

The 00Z ascent (released around 2300Z) from Herstmonceux later the same evening; probably as representative as we are going to get. I've highlighted the probable altitude band of the CC: the upper winds (right-hand side) confirm the direction of travel of the cloud. |
