Final immigration of 'Belgic' (late Celtic) peoples from the east . . . absorbing and / or displacing earlier peoples . . . a settled 'Celtic' way of life by end 2nd century BC . . . links with growing Roman Empire - not far away in Gaul . . . Julius Caesar - he came, he saw, he (sort of) conquered (55 & 54BC) . . . main aim to subdue support by Celtic chieftains in southern Britain for those in Gaul . . . Caesar withdraws . . . much of Celtic & Pictish Britain & Ireland left alone . . . further (non-confrontational) contact between Rome & Britain . . . trade flourished . . . social intercourse too, especially in the south . . . but Druids & Celtic chieftains still safe, for now . . .
Warming up again (after the early Celtic climate reversal * warming irregular * 'set-backs' during this period * occasional 'stormy' spells (see the problems Caesar had crossing the Channel) * becoming drier (overall) again (after wetness of previous era) * however note that these are relative terms: plenty of rainfall for the rich agriculture of this 'golden' period for Celtic Britain.
